Frequently asked questions

Getting married. Now what?

The questions couples ask most in our first conversations.

What is the first thing we need to decide?

Before choosing any vendor, decide together on the wedding you want to live: the style, how many guests you want to invite, the budget, the season or date, where you picture the celebration and what matters most to you as a couple. Planning starts from there.

When should we hire a wedding planner?

Ideally right at the start, before booking the main vendors. That way your planner helps you set priorities and budget, choose and negotiate with vendors, review proposals and contracts and build the timeline for each stage. Couples usually hire about a year ahead.

What is the difference between full and partial planning?

Full planning supports the couple from the very beginning of the planning until the end of the wedding. Partial planning is for couples who have already started and made some decisions: it organizes what has been done, identifies what is missing and leads the next stages.

What is the difference between planning and day-of coordination?

Planning is the preparation and follow-up over the months. Coordination is the organization and execution of the big day: the processional, guidance for the wedding party and families, the timing and the vendors during the event. The two work together so you can feel at ease before, during and after.

Do we really need a wedding planner?

Even couples who organize everything themselves need someone on the day to receive the vendors, keep the schedule, organize the processional, guide the wedding party, parents and children, and handle the unexpected. Having a professional means having someone who knows the way and takes care of everything behind the scenes, so you can simply live the moment.

Do you plan destination weddings?

Yes. I work mainly in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Bahia, and plan destination weddings all over Brazil, including for couples who live abroad and choose to marry here.

Which vendors do we need to book?

It depends on the style and size of the celebration, but the main ones are: a wedding planner, the venue, catering and drinks, décor and flowers, photo and video, music, the officiant, the couple's attire, hair and makeup, cake and sweets, invitations and stationery, sound and lighting. Part of a planner's job is to show you what you really need to book, when, and what the venue already includes.
